Dump Trailer Hydraulics: Care and Troubleshooting
If your dump box won't raise, it's usually the battery, the fluid or the remote.
Box won't raise
- Battery: A weak battery is the #1 cause. Charge it fully and test again. A solar charging kit keeps it topped off.
- Fluid: With the box fully down, check the reservoir. Top off with AW32 hydraulic fluid.
- Remote: Inspect the remote's cord and plug for damage.
- Overload: Make sure the load is within the trailer's rated payload.
Safety
Never work under a raised box without the safety prop engaged. Always dump on level ground.
Annual care
Grease the hinge and pivot points, inspect hoses for chafing, and change the fluid every 2 years.
